So.. lets talk about driveways. Given the harsh prairie winters of Saskatchewan I think I will wait until next summer, possibly the summer after, to pave my driveway/walk way. I want to give the ground proper time to settle, or is this an old wives tale?

Just curious what others have done in the mean time to fill in the gap? Right now there is some sand and rock on it, my builder tried but it isn't good enough. Crushed rock is a bit expensive and my understanding is it will have to come out for the driveway anyway. I was thinking some type of gravel mixture with some concrete slabs right in front of the steps to help keep things organized.
