I need some basement advice.
This crude and not-to-scale picture below shows my basement:
I'm wanting to add some carpet/pad to a 12x13' section of the basement.
I've laid tack strip along the outside walls.
The problem is a sloped floor and drain sitting 1' inside of that area.
The yellow shows the area I would
ideally like to carpet.
I bought an old school metal strip to transition from carpet to concrete.
But because of the slope, I don't know what to do.
Is there anything I can do to that area to still keep my carpet to the yellow borders, or am I destined to lose that space and tack strip to the green line instead?
For what it's worth, the hot water tank was just replaced 2 months ago, and was the first time in 5 years that we've used that drain.
Without costing me anymore than it already is, do I have any options?
Actual pic of are in question:
(The baseboard on the far side of the drain shows where I'd like the carpet to end, but also shows the dip from the slope)
