If he is willing to work in the AHL and be in the stands for a large portion of his NHL time he would be an ideal #7. Great playoff insurance when less gets called and warriors win.
Would rather have Sarich at the league minimum and helping out the kids in the AHL on what takes to be a pro than Smid at 3.5M
Don't know if he and Hartley are buddies as Hartley sat him a lot in Sarich's last year as a Flame.
