George White no longer a Stampeder
I was watching Global Sports around 6:40pm today (Tuesday) and Kevin Smith mentioned that the Calgary Stampeders cut LB George White and RB David Allen this afternoon. I haven't seen any report on TSN or Sportsnet in particular but I think this is true. As we all know George White is a good LB and he really compliment the 4 LB crew with the Stamps. It's sad to see him go and I hope he doesn't bite the Stamps in a butt someday. From what the report says ever since White got injured playing basketball in an off-season, he hasn't been the same since.
As for David Allen, he was great last season before he bolted to the NFL before the playoff. I was expecting more from him but I guess he hasn't been the same since he went to the NFL. I guess the Stamps management made the decision after last game against Montreal where Wes Cates had an excellent game in special team plays and even on a regular play.
Makes me wonder if John Grace will follow soon. He hasn't play or dressed for two consecutive games now and there was talk that the Stamps are very happy with Cornelius Anthony and that would spell trouble with Grace. I just hope Eskies or Roughies don't pick any of them up.
Good luck George and David.
