Depends on a few things, just went through much the same thing as you.

Our decision was between quads and a side by side. Very different styles of driving, side by side is more like everyday vehicle driving with a wheel and pedals. Quads of course have handlebars and you are sitting over top of it.

Depends on where you can drive it. Some trails are too narrow for a side by side.

Where will you store it and what will you haul with? Lots of options, truck decks can handle two quads. One quad can fit in the bed of a pickup truck.

We ended up getting a quad trailer, and can fit two quads on there and store it on one side of the garage.

I would be cautious buying used quads on kijiji. Guys trash the hell out of them. Look for ones where the original owner is selling because they bought it and never rode it. If possible get it inspected at one of the atv dealerships in town before buying.
