The Dougie Hamilton is a Calgary Flame thing is just to surreal to get my head around. Probably the biggest thing I'm looking forward to at training camp. Hamilton in practice jersey C on his chest doing the turns. Then to see where he suits up in ex games for partners etc.

But the bolded is the
really intriguing part.
I love the depth on D this year, regardless of how it shakes out, but there is a possibility that we can hit another Russell/Wideman type homer, if they can find a partner that has some real chemistry with Hamilton.
So many options, with Smid, Engelland (less likely as he's a RH shot), Nakladal and Wotherspoon. Or even a wildcard like Kylington.
If I remember correctly, Wotherspoon and Hamilton were partners in the WJCs. If they could re-ignite that chemistry again, suddenly you have elevated Wotherspoon's play and got him over the hump, just making the Flames all that more deeper still.
Can't wait to see how it plays out.
