Cataract has been my favorite mountain camping fishing spot for over 30 years. Most don't know about this quiet empty most of the time place. Fishing is excellent for brookies and will take anything from shrimps, flys and love small mepps spinners. For extra fun walk upstream a few miles and you will find some better size up in the deep holes along the walk. There is also a big set of beaver ponds that there is always lots of fish hiding as well on the right side on the way upstream. Don't forget to watch for yogi as there are several in the area.

This weekend we are camping in Kananaskis, to the Cataract Creek campground off Highway 40. Has anyone been out there lately?
If it isn't any good then we will be hitting up the Highwood, it will be the first time I have been up there to fish. Looks like we can keep 2 brookies and 5 white fish (30cm or bigger).
Any suggestions for flies in this area?
