I view the young stars tournament as the official start of the season. All the rookies tend to come in for the fitness stuff before going out to Penticton (first game is Sept 11).
If you are talking about the main camp, the kick off before camp is usually the charity classic golf tournament (Sept 14). First preseason game is the 21st.
