I agree, that as a whole, the album is good front to back. He's only done 2 other albums, but that seems to be a trait of his. I found this one much like Daft Punk's Random Access Memories. Nothing in particular stood out (save for one song), and there wasn't anything particular that you would want to listen to by itself, but front to back, it was a good listen .
I too was a bit disappointed that there wasn't as much G-Funk stuff as he pretty much pioneered, but I also found this one to be a bit of a shout out to the 'new age' hip hop.
