Exactly. Free agency isn't some sort of average or co-op. It doesn't matter how many teams would be interested because it is defined by the highest bidder.
Giordano would
easily get 5 x $8M IMO.
And if so, that essentially means that the Flames are getting one free season.
Giordano has accepted less than open market money in order to have security with his team, while helping give them a chance to win.
