It booted properly after that. I'm sure the process will be similar in Windows 10
You can also just install this:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/922976

then reboot, set AHCI mode and be good to go. If you want, you can then install your manufacturers AHCI drivers, or they might be found automatically.
