No, it is a bad approach. Not everyone in this world thinks and acts like hackers would, especially when it comes to security and traceable details. Blackmailers expecting average joes to know anything about Bitcoins and the way they work is completely stupid.
I'm in the tech industry, and expectations like that NEVER, EVER work.
