There is no such thing as a perfect crlme, just a question of how well you cover your tracks vs. how dedicated and competent the investigator is.
In this case, and somewhat ironically, the BitTorrent server used to initially seed the files was itself left completely unprotected and someone got in:

Not much at this point, but enough to give investigators a start.
Also, and interestingly, Toronto Police are trying to crowdsource the investigation, hoping other hackers can provide clues about the perpetrators of this one. Not a bad idea, really. At worst, they are no further ahead. At best, maybe some other hackers were AM members and none too pleased about being exposed...
