Default Ti-Cats Fire Offensive Coaches

Hamilton was terrible. This can't all be blamed on the coaches. Too bad, because HAM has good ownership now.

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats, who've failed to score a touchdown in three embarrassing home losses, fired offensive co-ordinator Joe Paopao and offensive line coach Kani Kauahi on Monday.

Interim coach Ron Lancaster, offensive assistant Perry Marchese and player-personnel director Craig Smith will now handle the offensive coaching duties, according to the team. The Ticats also expect to add another offensive coach soon.

Paopao spoke with CKNW in Vancouver and said the results of the teams last three games were the basis of the firing.

"It's not easy but I understand it's a business," said Paopao. "It showed over the last three games and that's what they based it on. That's the tough business we're in.

Maybe McManus should go back, and be a coach.
