You don't need to be wealthy to use and enjoy the bridge. Based on current ticket price trends, the cheapest seats at this new venue will probably be around $50 a ticket.
I think its a huge slap in the face to people who can't afford to go to arena events as is to make them pay for a new one.
If the Flames cannot make the project work with their own money / ticket taxes, it should not proceed. Simple as that.
The hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars are better spent on things everyone in the community can enjoy. Libraries, parks, schools, transportation infrastructure, etc...
I'm fortunate enough to come from a wealthy family. I go to dozens of Saddledome events every year. I just don't think it fair to make other people subsidize my entertainment.
