With the new cycle tracks, I can go virtually door-to-door completely separated from motor vehicles and pedestrians, so I'm considering getting a bike to reduce my commute time. I enjoy walking, though, and I imagine 25 minutes of walking each way is better exercise than 10 minutes of cycling.

Almost ditto, though I have a daycare dropoff halfway between home and work, so that adds 10 mins onto my on-foot commute. Generally speaking, I walk to work, but we just bought bikes recently and I got a trailer for my daughter, so I've started cycling to work, dropping kid and trailer off at daycare. It does not save me any time, in fact, I think it takes me longer than walking, but I feel like I get a bit more exercise. (I do have to back-track a bit to use the cycle routes). Anytime I contemplate moving into a house (and inevitably moving out of Beltline), it's usually the commute and convenience that clinches our desire to stay in Beltline.
