Calgary would be around 53 on this list. Most of these areas show growth (except cities around Lake Erie). CMA for Calgary in 2011 was 1.2M.

If the price of oil remains depressed long term, the population of Calgary could decrease.

Metro Calgary is just under 1.5M now. However, the definition doesn't include Okotoks or High River, which are almost as close as the included Airdrie and Cochrane.

I don't think there's much of a chance of a decerase in population. It never happened in any previous downturns.
