I can add some insight to this as I had at once played a computer game competitively. It's absolutely exhausting. The studying, analysis of battles, theory crafting, pre fight prep, extremely strict schedules and recruitment. Honestly it pays off at the very top echelon but to give you an idea, the group I had played with hit top 50 in the world and held onto that for a substantial amount of time. In the 4 years I played this game (the last year was casually) I had amounted nearly 200 days played. That really shocked me and made me reevaluate the time I was spending on this game. Im glad ive stepped away from it, a much wiser move. These people are really the cream of the crop.
