I was in the same boat that you are when it comes to buying an annual printer.

What I opted to do is shell out for a great photo printer one year and then a laser printer for the b/w jobs. It is an initial shockfor all of the money up front but I've been going on 2 years now just between the two printers and all is good.

As for the printers, I also got an Epson similar to the one Inferno mentioned. (despite it being a previous model year) and the other one is a lower end samsung which is really similar to this:

Everyone has their own situation, but I hope this helps.

p.s. If you go to the sunridge location of futureshop, be careful of who you go to. I bought a video card yesterday and was making conversation with the guy by asking what the return policy was. He gave me an earful about how it wastes time, money, futureshop time money...blah blah...I was pretty steamed as to what he was trying to imply and tried looking for the guy's name on the receipt but can't find it.
