Don't know if I can recall such a dramatic change in the fortunes of a sports franchise that was greater than the difference between Hartley-coached Iginla-lead Flames team and the Hartley-coached, Giordano-Lead Flames team.

Jarome was traded on March 27, 2013. Over the next 82 regular season games the Flames went 30-41-11, which would give you a 71 point season. Amongst non-lockout years, that would be the second worst record in the history of the franchise.
This notion that the Flames turn around can be tied directly to the leadership change is highly questionable.
