Electricity; fixed rate in the summer, floating in the winter (I switch to fixed when it looks like temperatures are supposed to be steady 17+)

I agree, but I actually float on Gas all months... There hasn't been a month in 5 years that I have paid more floating, except for maybe 1-2. Last winter the RRO (floating) was around $2/gj and the fixed rate was nearly $5... Really hard to ever make that difference up even with one or two peak month jumps upwards...
