You are letting your imagination run a bit wild here. News channels set up a camera in front of where the story is dozens of times a night. This is standard operating procedure for the media and has been for decades. They aren't looking for a viral video hoping a random person walking by harasses them while they are trying to do their job. I am sure it's already a pain trying to do a news report in public without people interrupting you, yelling, honking etc.
