Martin likely is the best player the Jays have had at the position, but it's still early in his career as a Jay, so I went with Ernie Whitt.

Really Borders MVP is a bit misleading. He almost won it because no one player on the Blue Jays was particularly outstanding in that series, and he had the best numbers. Ultimately it was Jeff Reardon basically being the Least Valuable Player for Atlanta that let them win that series. Other than that Ed Sprague with the pinch hit homer in game 2, Kelly Grubers one and only hit in the freaking playoffs in game 3 with Devon Whites catch and should have been triple play. Jimmy Key's stellar outing in game 4 with the Borders HR, and Dave Winfields double in extras in game 6.

It was hard to pick one guy who really made the difference in that series, it was a real team effort.
