[Senator Clay Davis]

I have a pretty hard time giving this season anything higher than 6.5/10. The writing took a big step back this season, it was a jumbled mess that ultimately made you care very little about anything that was going on, if you could even follow what was going on. It's hard to think a show is good if you don't care about the plot or any of the characters.

Ultimately this season just felt empty, there was none of the intrigue of season 1, and even after getting a decent run going in episodes 6 and 7, they have an overly long, unnecessarily drawn out finale to break that run. It was stylish at times, it had some cool scenes and decent action, and while the dialogue was at times humiliating (blue balls of the heart anyone?), I kinda used it as comic relief even if it was supposed to be taken seriously. It wasn't all poor, but as a total package it just doesn't stack up.

I imagine this season's quality will cause a lot of revisionism of season 1 and whether it was really that good or if we all came in biased towards it because it had two likeable A-list stars and that on second viewing, it wasn't that great either. Guess we'll see.
