I thought that all of them looked creepy when they gave their fake smiles to the camera. Trudeau probably pulled it off the best, but that is more his schtick. I really question the wisdom of their handlers when they keep telling the debaters to give us their forced smiles. They seem to come off a lot better when they are forgetting to smile and just act naturally.
It is obvious that the well is poisoned for Trudeau on this site. People here just don't like the way he looks or his voice or something. Non-Calgarypuck consensus is that he was one of the better performers.
Mulcair wasn't very good. I watch Question Period often (don't ask why) and he is much better in that venue. He was way too wooden and used a lot of answers and accusations that you could tell were rehearsed. He is much better in a less-scripted setting.
Harper performed well. He cherry-picked a lot of his "facts", but what else is new. He was solid.
May was the best performer in my view. The biggest problem that I had with her was the creepy smile after her closing remarks. Why do they do that?
