Put me in the group that doesn't see Franson as an upgrade on Wideman. He isn't a better player now, and whenever he might be, I don't think he'll be better than Hickey, Kyllington, Andersson etc.
As long as Wideman doesn't get injured or have a truly awful year, he can be traded next off season with very little trouble - ten teams would want what he brings.
