Staying an extra year in junior would be like staying an extra year in high school when it isn't needed. You pick up bad habits.
This philosophy is what makes Kylington's situation interesting. Skillwise he's probably ready for the pros but game maturity wise, he's probably not. At least with him, I don't see us burning a year of his contract.
