So is Microsoft. XNA Game Studio Express (Beta) is set to be released Aug.30 and provides a C# .Net framework to use XBox/Direct X libraries. Eventually, the Pro version of the tools will allow developers to sell their games in the XBox Live Arcade.
Sounds ambitious, but it could be neat to see what people come up with. Will people who develop Flash/Shockwave games switch to these new options?
And I am/was a big PS2 supporter, but it looks like Sony has made a system that is too difficult to develop for, laden with DRM, and really expensive. Perhaps I'll stick to PC Gaming (but I prefer my sports gaming on a consloe, and the 360 has been calling out to me).
