Just my opinion but the jays should not be giving up blue chip young arms for anybody who isn't a good pitcher with lots of team control left. Castro and Hoffman are both really good young pitchers. Am not a fan if they are both involved and there's no salary relief.

Tulo is great but Jays take on 50 million in payroll and give up 2 blue chip arms for him... Not such a fan.

At the very least AA better finally do it right and get some pitching if he's blowing prospect capital on older players again. All or nothing
According to ZiPS, this is how their expected WAR is projected

ZiPS WAR and salaries for Jose Reyes. RoS 15: 0.9/$7 mil, 2.0/$22 mil, 1.8/$22 mil, $4 mil buyout taken.

ZiPS WAR and salaries for Troy Tulowitzki: RoS 2015: 1.7/$7 mil, 2016 4.7/$20 mil, '17 4.1/20, '18 3.7/20, '19 3.2/20 '20 2.8/14, 21 2.4/15

Now that breaks down to Reyes WAR value being nearly 20 million dollars less than he'll be getting paid. On the other hand, Tulo's WAR value is projected to be $40 million dollars higher than he'll be paid.

So basically there's a 60 million dollar value difference between the two players over the remaining contracts. Castro and Hoffman would have to pan out in a serious way and not be just fringe reliever or 5th starter to make up the difference. The Jays are getting the better end of this deal by far. This is almost as good as the Lawrie for Donaldson trade.
