Officers recently seized 94 perch, along with fishing rods, from a group of four men, which is 34 perch over the limit. All four individuals were issued Appearance Notices and will have their day in court on September 16, 2015.

Poaching can be hard on your pocketbook. Two men recently pleaded guilty to fishing in closed waters and unlawful possession of fish in the Lethbridge area. Jacob Giesbrecht was in possession of six fish (two walleye and four goldeye) and received a $2,000 fine and a one-year recreational licence suspension. Isaac Dyck was in possession of 12 fish (two sauger, four walleye and eight goldeye) and received a $3,850 fine and a one-year recreational licence suspension.
