To be fair, there's a couple things to consider. In 2013, Sieloff was ranked 7th amongst all our prospects above both Poirier and Klimchuk, despite playing one shortened season in junior. People were largely basing the ranking on his potential and how well he fared in a higher league (OHL). Then even after a disastrous year health-wise (missed nearly entire year), Sieloff was still ranked 12th in 2014 ahead of Arnold, Ferland, Kulak, Agostino, Smith, McDonald, Culkin, and Hickey. There are 8 players right there that leapfrogged him in their development. Sieloff had an average year at best in Adirondack, and didn't inspire the coaching staff to even play him full time. Add to that the continued strong drafting of the Flames even this year with Kylington and Andersson, and there is little reason to have Sieloff ahead of just about anyone on this list so far.

That being said, it is still possible for him to get his career back on track in terms of development, but he has to stay healthy and get himself some game time. If he can't manage that, I doubt he gets another contract.
