I dont get the complaining around here on this contract!

We got Jones Stajan Raymond and Backlund all getting paid atleast a million bucks more than Bouma. Bouma outscored them all last season, played 78 games, is physical, blocks a ton of shots, is a team leader, and roomates with Monahan.

If Bouma regresses this year its a fair contract. If he matchs last seasons numbers its a pure steal. If he improves on last seasons numbers Treliving is a God!

As for cap implications? Seriously some of you think this is the contract that screws us over next season? Hiller Ramo Jones and Hudler are ufas at the end of the season. Thats 16 million in cap space. Only guy I would like to keep is Hudler but we could survive without him if his demands are too high.

All of this is also assuming we make no trades. Trade Stajan and Wideman for picks thats 8 million more in cap space. If a team could do us a favor and take Raymond off our hands thats another 3 million.

We will be fine. Happy for Bouma and The Calgary Flames!
