Wow man your really reaching now. Just because Daryl didn't manage his cap one year all of a sudden this is some major concern? Has that even happened to another team ever? And nothing was mentioned about shaving a couple hundred thousand dollars off Monahan or Gaudreau's salary.
You do realize there was an arbitration hearing. The arbitration very easily could have been higher than 2.2. But yes let's continue to cry over 200k. Guy has a career year, is a heart and soul player, want's to be here, showed and proved last year but let's nickel and dime him.
