Kypreos was absolute dynamite this year, imo. Someone pointed out that sportsnet was likely molding him into their version of Don Cherry for a lot of years which made him appear more silly/over the top/annoying.
But Roger's buying hockey night in Canada and combining all the best talent on one network allowed Kypreos to settle down and just provide analysis instead of trying to play a bit of a character, and the results are fantastic.
We complain so much as fans, and a lot of it is justified, but I will say for the first time in my entire hockey watching life I've found a segment that I actually look forward to and go out of my way to watch, and that's Strombo, Kypreos, Freidman and Hrudey.
That panel is an absolute treat to watch. You really get a sense that you're getting honest, smart analysis when they're on and they're all confident and comfortable there which goes a long ways on TV.
There's nothing worse than watching weaker panels where the guys are more focused on their body movements and voice inflections than what they're actually saying. Which wouldn't matter anyways because what they're saying is usually quite forgettable.
