He either thinks McDavid will solve everything or that Chiarelli will make all the right moves, guaranteed. There is NOTHING there at the moment that makes me believe either/both scenarios are likely, especially within 2-4 years. To me he sounds like a fanboy you'd come across at HF saying stuff like that. Obviously he's more knowledgeable than that... I think.

In no way did I contradict myself. If you want to quote me properly how about the fact I said every single other media person. Name any mainstream media person and they've said it too. Bobby Mac, Dreger, Kypreos etc etc. of course I just laid out a perfectly easy argument or "opinion" for you to completely undermine their hockey knowledge as well. I have opinions that are bad too doesn't mean I don't get called on them either. Your opinion of MacLean being as knowledgeable as an average fan is stupid. Take some time to listen to him talk about the history of the game, the current state of the game and tell me otherwise. I doubt you'll find a truer student of the game than Ron Maclean. You can "LOL" all you want but it doesn't make my original post less true. That man can pin you down on midget to minor hockey trivia/knowledge all around the country let alone just the NHL. Then there's the NHL! man alive there's not more than 5 or 6 people you can have access to that know more about the game.
Do I like Ron Maclean or his sometimes outlandish opinions? I wouldn't say I'm an avid follower but I damned well respect the mand enough to give him the respect he deserves. He's been doing HNIC since I was 7 years old.
