It is crazy how fast the young defensive depth was turned around.
Last year it felt like was pretty much just Brodie and Wotherspoon for young d-men.
Then we added Hamilton, and Nakladal at the NHL level.
Hickey, Gilmour, Culkin, and Kulak took decent steps at their respective levels with Hickey being the real big surprise.
And we added Morrison, Andersson, and Kylington at the end of the season to really shore up the prospect list.
Plus you still have Rafikov, Olias Mattison, Sieloff, and Kanzig as guys who could be dark horses at this point.
If you feel like Brodie, Hamilton, and Gio are the core moving forward then we really only need 3 or 4 of those other 13 d-men to progress into good NHLers. I don't mind those odds.
