Is it though? I agree that he was seen as a physical player in Junior and maybe he does need to bulk up a bit. But how much would that added weight affect his speed? I think at 6'2 200 lb's he is a decent size, but he doesn't generate offense by being a power forward. His offense is purely created with speed and skill.
If we want Poirier to become a top-6 forward instead of a bottom 6 forward, he should be doing whatever will benefit his offensive game the most.
