I would be saying to Bouma that 2.5M is what he is worth for a UFA year. Sign a short term deal and see if he can raise his value, or take a 3 year deal that starts around Calgary's figure and ends on Bouma's figure
1.6 + 2.0 + 2.5 = 2.03M per
If he does not want to give up any UFA years, a 2 year deal has to be more in Calgary's favour
1.6 + 2.0 = 1.8M per
