I'm fine if people don't like the Forever a Flame thing, but it's not a secondary honour they've bestowed upon him, it's what they are doing now.

It is a secondary honour, how is it not. They will still retire a number for specific players, but have now added this as well for others.
Since having your number retired holds a higher status in the majority of peoples opinion and Forever a Flame is for those that don't qualify for having the number retired but still the organization wants to honour them.... i don't see why it wouldn't be considered secondary
