Yes but they were 22-23 years old graduating from college.. Way different situations.
There's 3 leagues he can be in next season. He would only be eligible for this scenario if he joined the AHL. Unless he really impresses in the AHL (if he even goes to the AHL) there will be other prospects getting that call-up. Culkin, Kulak, Morrison, Nakladal, Wotherspoon and Seiloff will also be in a position to get called up for a cup of coffee. Hickey may even sign after his NCAA season and would very likely be ahead of Kylington in the NHL ready department.
