It was due to what they were offered back when they were initially offered a contract in the first place. Because BVB was a UFA NCAA player, the Flames had to offer him a little more than the minimum in order to get him to sign and then it's been a 10% raise. Arnold was signed for the minimum if I recall, and that's the difference.
When you factor the adjusted rates for the AHL, the difference is probably 4-5 thousand.
