LA's blue line isn't as deep as it once was. They had to overplay Doughty and that's not a good thing. Couldn't keep Sekera after the season.
Chicago
Calgary, Nashville
St. Louis
LA
Minnesota
is how I'd rank the top blue lines in the west. However that doesn't account for team defense, where I think St Louis is near the top if not the top. How frustrating that team is to play and score against. The whole team is committed to a sound defensive system and has the size to make life difficult. The Flames may have the soon to be best D-corps in development right now, but our system doesn't focus around the defensive side of the game, but utilizing the defense as extra forwards in offensive situations, so of course our goals against isn't and probably still won't be tops in the west this season. But it's damn impressive, none the less. Come playoffs, adding a potential top pairing of Gio-Hamilton to the fold will allow us to put a real fight to teams like Anaheim/Chicago/St.Louis.
