Raymond riding the pine for a game or two in the playoffs was very telling. I am sure Flames want him to keep some value so they could move him next offseason without having to eat any salary. This year is irrelevant. If he is beaten cleanly for a job at training camp they could send him down and no one would touch him. However that would likely mean he has negative value until the end of his contract.
Would be better for the Flames if he plays well, keeps his job and could be moved for something going into last year of his contract. For this reason I am expecting we see him on the team.
