I admittedly knows nothing about Jankowski other then what I read on CP and limited video, but on one side I see crappy stats and some people (not valid?) disappointing... on the other, I read about the depth he was buried under, his FF play, and short videos of really nice skill. Interesting to put things into perspective, given his age and everything - I guess if he was drafted a year later, what are yours (or anyone elses) thoughts - would he be a 1st round pick in Poirer/Klimchuk's draft year and range?
I'll admit that I wondered if we should just let him re-enter the draft and take the 2nd round pick, but now what I see and read I'm kind of excited, he sounds like he could be a top 6 guy. A top 6 of Gaudreau, Monahan, Poirer, Bennett and Jankowski would be pretty cool. Hopefully Kilmchuk and maybe even Shore (?) can round out that top 6, sans various other player movement through trades, draftings, signings and surprises.
