I don't see the point in bridging him though. If you bridge him, you're just going to end up paying more for him long term. His body of work thus far shows that he is getting better and better each year, meaning if you bridge him you might save some dollars now but you'll end up paying that back when he signs his next long term deal. Give him the 8 year/ 7.5AAV now. The cap will continue to go up, which will mean in 3-5 years $7.5million will be a steal for a 20 something #1 centre.
