It's not impossible for Monahan to hit 70 points but I don't think it will happen next season because everything went right for Monahan last season. Himself and his line stayed very healthy this season. Will this happen again? Hudler had a career year. Can he do that again? Will Hudler even be on Monahan's line next season? Monahan's shooting percentage is quite high. Can he maintain that?
Unlike Tarasenko, Monahan lacks the play-making skills to really rack up the points at the NHL level. It wouldn't surprise if last season was very close to his peak season offensively and that wouldn't upset me all. If he can maintain a 30G 30A pace for the next 10 years the Flames would be very happy.
