OKLAHOMA CITY — A Yukon lawmaker filed legislation Monday to remove the section of the state constitution cited by the Oklahoma Supreme Court when it ordered a Ten Commandments monument removed from the state Capitol grounds.
State Rep. John Paul Jordan, R-Yukon, called the section barring the use of state assets for religious purposes “toxic” and a “malignant tumor” that “needs to be removed completely” from the state constitution.
