You'd rather give Byron a scoring role position? The same Byron that has never cracked 8 goals in the NHL?
Byron's efforts got him a qualifying offer allowing him to file for arbitration. That's the absolute best he could have hoped the Flames do for him.
Semin's probably not in the cards, but it better not have anything to do with a fringe player like Byron.
