For long-time Canadian footy fans, it's not. Maybe worse because at least a lot of Americans would say they won the hockey final rather than that ice hockey game.
That's what I meant. I only watch the World Cup and then I will forget about soccer for 4 years (in both men's and women's). I don't have that attachment that real fans do. So I understand how long-time fans might feel. That's like hockey (NHL, Olympics) and American football (NFL) for me.
