Hmm... I'll have to give that a shot.
Once I discovered using dots on a square to eliminate options, I've been able to do the really hard puzzles. (See
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sudoku#Marking_up. I use the dots method that does not require erasing.) The erasing used to drive me nuts when the puzzles are really challenging. Now I do the ones that take me 10 minutes just to get the first number.
